Since Becky Lynch’s return back in November, she’s been involved in a heated feud with Bayley on WWE Raw alongside the DAMAGE CTRL members. Now, the two will feature in the speculated final match in their rivalry, next week on the 30th anniversary of WWE’s flagship show. It will be a Steel Cage Match to wrap things up between the two cornerstone figures of the WWE Women’s Evolution.
Becky Lynch appeared for a promo session on the January 16 episode of WWE Raw to make things personal with Bayley. On a related note, several references were made to WWE superstars who are no more there in the company.
WWE Raw: Two Championship Matches Added To 30th Anniversary Episode
At one point, Lynch possibly took a jab at Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks), who was previously a member of the “Four Horsewomen of WWE” along with herself, Bayley, and Charlotte Flair. In her promo, it was noted that she was never viewed as a star by the WWE management which wasn’t the case for Sasha, Bayley, or Flair.
Also, Lynch accused Bayley and others of “moaning and complaining” when things don’t go their way. This led the fans on social media to speculate that it was a reference to the former Sasha Banks, who staged a walkout from WWE due to creative differences. She also previously walked out after Wrestlemania 35 following their title match loss.

“You were supposed to have your own spotlight,” Becky Lynch told Bayley on WWE Raw. “I was seen as just another body. I wasn’t supposed to be The Man. I wasn’t supposed to change the game or become the first woman to main-event WrestleMania. But, I did, because I love this and I work for this. I worked harder than anybody else, and I’m gonna keep working for this until I can’t do it anymore.”
The promo segment ended with Lynch challenging Bayley to a Steel Cage Match for next week’s WWE Raw XXX special episode. The match was later confirmed by WWE while the stipulation was picked to prohibit any sort of interference from Bayley’s DAMAGE CTRL buddies.
