ToggleIn one of the co-main-events of this week’s episode of WWE Raw, Alexa Bliss squared off against Bayley in a number one contender’s match for the Raw Women’s Championship. With the champion Bianca Belair present at ringside, it was Bliss who stood tall and earn an opportunity to the red-strapped title held by the EST of WWE after a clean pin-fall win over Bayley.
Dakota Kai and IYO SKY of Team DAMAGE CTRL tried to interfere in the match in favor of Bayley but Becky Lynch chased them off. THE MAN was out for revenge against the heel faction as they cost her the opportunity to compete in the number-one contender’s match on WWE Raw, last week. After a sneak attack, the heel trio put her through the commentary table.

Becky Lynch helped Alexa Bliss on Raw
Last night, Becky took Kai and SKY out of the equation before the Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley matchup. The latter one exposed the turnbuckle but the referee caught her red-handed. The distraction by the referee allowed Little Miss Bliss to take advantage of the situation and connect with her pendant Twisted Bliss finisher off the top rope to secure the pinfall win over Bayley.
Alexa Bliss’ WWE Raw Women’s Title opportunity time & date to be revealed
With this win, Alexa Bliss will now challenge Bianca Belair for WWE Raw Women’s Championship at a later date. Previously, this match was announced to go down at the Royal Rumble premium live event but now this match has been removed from the show. WWE is yet to confirm the Bliss vs. Belair bout but we assume it to go down in an upcoming episode of December.
Last week on WWE Raw, Bliss and Bayley qualified for the top contender’s match by winning a pair of triple-threat matches. Bayley defeated Rhea Ripley and Asuka in the first bout while Bliss prevailed victorious over Becky Lynch and Nikki Cross in the main event on December 5. Both matches had controversial finishes and thus set up future rivalries involving Ripley-Asuka and Lynch-DAMAGE CTRL.
Top matches happening on Raw before Royal Rumble?
Fans on social media already believed that Becky Lynch would likely cost Bayley the match against Bliss and that’s how things went down on WWE Raw. The ongoing beef is likely to set up a potential showdown between these two former Four Horsewomen at a future show. This one, too shouldn’t be happening at Royal Rumble 2023 since it’s more than a month away in the schedule and WWE has to go through a lot of weekly episodes of Monday Night Raw until then.
