Upon her much-anticipated return to WWE Raw on the occasion of SummerSlam 2022, Bayley brought a sinister group known as Damage CTRL with her featuring Dakota Kai and IYO SKY with the intention of unleashing hell on the then-stale WWE Women’s Division. For the time being, they did wreak havoc but their dominance faded.

Bayley noted on Twitter heading into Wrestlemania 39 that she’s hell-bent on making an impact but things didn’t go her way. Damage CTRL, lost to Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 39 Saturday in a non-title six-woman tag team match which many believed to be her last match in the WWE for the time being. At least, her tweet and current status suggest so.

Bayley missed the latest episode of WWE Raw

It was not fully clear what Bayley is referring to in her post whether it meant the end of her feud with her current rival or leaving WWE or taking a break from wrestling. Meanwhile, she’s been absent from the post-Mania episode of WWE Raw, last night. On this note, WWE on BT Sport Twitter account posted the following to suggest that Damage CTRL will usher in a new era sans Bayley.

This certainly means that the former multi-time WWE Raw and Smackdown Women’s Champion isn’t with the company. It isn’t clear whether she’s decided to quit like her bestie Sasha Banks or it’s her contract that quietly expired.

Longest-Reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion Quietly Leaves WWE After Wrestlemania 39 2

Bayley, without a doubt, has been a major part of WWE’s women’s division in recent years and her departure should cause a significant loss for the company. After all, she is the first Grand Slam Champion from the women’s division of the WWE who’s also been the longest-reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion to carry the company on her shoulder during the pandemic era.

Since her comeback in August, Bayley was regularly seen on WWE programming but there’s been displeasure regarding her booking on WWE Raw and how a talent like IYO SKY might have been wasted under the Damage CTRL faction. Now that Bayley is gone, it’ll be interesting to see how WWE Creative books the heel faction.
