Season 3 of The Young Rock on NBC had Becky Lynch in the star cast that pleasantly surprised wrestling fans. She has portrayed the character of Cyndi Lauper she’s admittedly back on the sets of the TV show. She would be returning once again to the network series as the 80s pop music icon which could also be the reason behind her absence from WWE TV.

It was in late 2022 that Becky Lynch debuted as Lauper on the premiere episode of Young Rock Season 3. During that episode, a younger Dwyane Johnson got to experience Rock N’ Wrestling night right before the first-ever WrestleMania was in the making. Lauper reportedly was one of the guests attending the Wrestlemania party with the likes of Hulk Hogan, Iron Sheikh, and Mr. T.

Becky Lynch earned praise by playing Cyndi Lauper in Young Rock
After connecting with wrestler manager Captain Lou Albano during her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” music video, Lauper also became associated with the pro-wrestling genre on the road to the first WrestleMania. She tagged herself with the team of Hulk Hogan and Mr. T as they battled against “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff in the main event match of the Show of Shows. Additionally, she was also present at Wendi Richter’s corner as she defeated The Fabulous Moolah for the WWF Women’s Championship.
Filming schedule forced Becky to miss Raw?
Becky Lynch acted like a pro in this role and viewers were quite impressed with her ability to drop her Irish accent but rather deliver lines in Lauper’s New York accent. She credited her dialect coach for that change in dialect. According to Seven Bucks Executive Producer and former WWE lead writer Brian Gewirtz, the top WWE star had to audition for the role when she was recovering from a separated shoulder suffered at Summerslam 2022.
Going back to Young Bucks set could be the reason that Becky Lynch could have missed the January 9 episode of Monday Night Raw from Birmingham, Alabama. At present, she is in the middle of a feud with Bayley and her DAMAGE CTRL buddies.
