The ongoing feud between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on WWE Raw is apparently not over following the latest happening. After what transpired, last night one more match is expected. However, Rhodes isn’t expected to make his return on WWE TV programming for some time as he’s dealing with a legit injury.
The American Nightmare kicked off the June 6 episode of WWE Raw by providing fans an update on his future following a pectoral muscle tear while preparing for his Hell In A Cell match against Seth Rollins at this past weekend’s Hell In A Cell premium live event. He eventually competed in that match and picked up the third straight win over The Visionary.

In the wake of his win in an injured state, Cody Rhodes received a standing ovation from WWE Raw audience present in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Talking about the future, Rhodes offered his respect for Rollins, who is one of the bests of all time. While he enjoyed sharing the ring with the former WWE Champion, he intended to put the program behind him following the HIAC win,
“I fought against one of the very best superstar wrestlers in the history of our game, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. The chapter, the trilogy, it’s been written, it’s in the archives. I’m officially done with Seth Rollins.”
Seth Rollins showed his true colors on WWE Raw
Rhodes also wanted to return to capture the Money in the Bank briefcase and then go on to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. This is when Rollins interrupted his promo session. Showing a sportsman spirit, the two top WWE Raw Superstars hugged each other and thereby showed respect.
Suddenly, Rollins had turned on Rhodes and he proceeded to unleash a brutal beatdown on his long-time adversary. Rollins would hit his curb stomp finisher onto Rhodes’ injured shoulder and chest area before unloading a shot with a sledgehammer onto the heavily bruised pectoral of ‘The American Nightmare’. Prior to that, he also used the hammer to give a shot to the back of his rival.
This blatant attack on WWE Raw would ensure Rhodes’ absence for the time being as he starts the healing process from the torn pectoral muscle. Rumors began about Rhodes’ condition after he was pulled from a live event in Champaign, Illinois due to injury. But he eventually competed at Hell in a Cell, showcasing the gutsy side of himself.
