WWE has confirmed the main event of No Mercy, last week. Now that Braun Strowman has manhandled the champion, Brock Lesnar, on two consecutive occasions, the fans were eager to know whether he will show up to seek redemption on WWE Raw. Plus, a big time main event was also reserved. Check out the results from the show hosted by FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
WWE Raw opened up with The Miz and his entourage complaining about not defending his IC title at Summerslam. Kurt Angle interrupted him right away stating that he will have a title defence, next week. To determine his opponent, a battle royal was announced with elite superstars competing in it.
The Hardy Boyz, Finn Balor, Big Show were part of this battle royal. Balor was in the driver’s seat until Bray Wyatt interfered and lifted him off the ring to eliminate. At last, Jeff Hardy eliminated Jason Jordan to become the new contender. The Miz was not happy, at all about this.
Emma and Mickie James had yet another backstage confrontation after which they decided to have a match. If Mickie would have won, then Emma had to stop claiming of being the innovator of women’s revolution. However, Emma won the match in quick time and announced it for multiple times before leaving.
Brock Lesnar appeared in front of the crowd to address Strowman’s attack from last week. Paul Heyman declared that if anyone is capable of taking the title away from the champion, then it’s certainly the mountain among men. But, first, he has to go through the suplex city at No Mercy for doing so.
John Cena and Roman Reigns had a contract signing for their upcoming match at No Mercy. They cut a furious promo that was worth to listen before getting interrupted by Gallows & Anderson. Cena & Reigns teamed up against these two yet again to come up victorious after both of them hit their finishing manoeuvres on the ‘good brothers’.
Seth Rollins had a singles match against Cesaro on WWE Raw. He came up short after a distraction from Sheamus. Cesaro hit him with a huge uppercut to pick up the win. Dean Ambrose took on Sheamus right after the match for another singles contest. Rollins helped his partner from outside allowing him to connect with the Dirty Deeds and pick up the win.
Enzo Amore picked up his first win on WWE Raw as a member of the Cruiserweight division. Elias Samson had a segment with Jerry Lawler after which he was introduced to Heath Slater. Samson delivered a sneak attack on Slater before leaving the ring.
In the main event of WWE Raw, we witnessed yet another shocking title change. Alexa Bliss was able to escape the Bank Statement and connect with a snap DDT on Sasha to pin the champion and win back the title. After the match, Nia Jax showed up and turned on Bliss by assaulting her. She ended the show with the championship in hand.
