This was the first episode of WWE Raw to start the initial build-up for the Money in the Bank PPV event. The show addressed the Universal Championship picture scenario. Plus, we had a number of interesting matchups that has been declared as the MITB match competitors, Check out the results from the show hosted by the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale, New York.
Kurt Angle’s music kicked off this week’s WWE Raw. He talked about WWE entertaining us all the way since its beginning. Going forward, we will get the Money in the Bank PPV. There will be a couple of qualifying matches. The first triple threat would be contested amongst Ember Moon, Ruby Riott, and Sasha Banks. The other triple threat match will have Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, and Sami Zayn.
Braun Strowman interrupted Angle demanding an opportunity for the MITB match. Their conversation was cut short by Kevin Owens who had the same pledge. So, Angle made Owens vs. Strowman official with the winner getting a shot. Strowman hit three running shoulder tackles and the Running Powerslam to pick up a quick win.
In the women’s division, MITB qualifying match, Sasha Banks, Ember Moon and Ruby Riott encountered. At one point, the Riott Squad tried to deliver an ambush on Sasha capitalizing on the No Disqualification environment. But, Bayley ran down to make the save. Ember took the chance and hit an incredible Eclipse to pin Riott on WWE Raw.
Jinder Mahal requested to get into the Money in the Bank qualifying match. So, Kurt Angle told him to create impression defeating Chad Gable. Mahal did the same by hitting the Khallas on Gable. A tag team matchup took place with the lineup of No Way Jose and Titus Worldwide vs. The Revival and Baron Corbin. The latter one hit End of Days on Jose to pick up the win.
Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt gave a new name to their team, The Deletors of Worlds. They picked up an easy win over the Miztourage by the modified Twist of Fate. Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler ended with the latter team hitting the zig-zag-claymore combination to get the win on WWE Raw.
Elias and Bobby Roode clashed in a match where the heel superstars tried to shove his opponent into the turnbuckle. But, Roode hit back with a Glorious DDT for the win. Mojo Rawley answered the Intercontinental title open challenge from Seth Rollins. After a back and forth encounter, Rollins hit the Curb Stomp alongside the Ripcord Knee to pick up the win.
In the main event of WWE Raw, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, and Sami Zayn competed in a triple threat match.
The crowd cheered Zayn and Balor double-teaming on Reigns. Despite this, the Big Dog was about to pick up the win until Jinder Mahal interfered. With this distraction, Finn Balor got the chance to capitalize by hitting a Coup De Grace on Zayn for the win.
