WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns confronted AJ Styles
This week’s edition of WWE Raw was the final one before WWE goes extreme on this Sunday, live on WWE Network for Extreme Rules PPV. The main eventers for Sunday evening kicked off the show as The Family vs. The Club saga continued on Monday Night’s hottest show from Flair country. But quite surprisingly the showdown did not turn out to be a brawl between them as mainly because once Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson arrived on the scene to back up Styles, The Usos made their own appearance at Reigns’ side to even the odds. Reigns delivered an uppercut to thwart Styles out of the ring.

Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro
The New Era gave us a gift to watch Zayn locking head one-on-one with Cesaro. These two had once featured in a solid matchup on NXT ARRIVAL. Unfortunately, the bout didn’t get to a definitive conclusion, as The Miz and Kevin Owens, the other two participants in Sunday’s Fatal 4-Way for the Intercontinental Championship decided to leave the commentary and spilled into the ring. This forced a no contest ending and Shane McMahon arrived on the scene to make it a Sami & Cesaro vs. Miz & Owens. Stephanie McMahon, however, did the unthinkable by tweaking the teams into Owens & Zayn vs. Cesaro & Miz.
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn def. The Miz & Cesaro
No, it was not that we travelled on the time machine to watch back the brotherhood of Owens and Zayn but we really did see them teaming up with each other. Owens was not ready to get into the match with Zayn but Stephanie gave him no choice as she forced him into the match, otherwise, she will be barred from Sunday’s intercontinental championship match. The hilarious moment came when Miz attempted a Cesaro Swing, only for The King of Swing to counter with a Skull-Crushing Finale. The contest ended after Miz ate a Helluva Kick from Zayn to get pinned.
The Shining Stars def. Scott Jackson & Brian Kennedy
We have heard since Wrestlemania 32 that Puerto Rico is the shining star of the Caribbean and better living place than any town for the WWE Universe. Now the two exports from the rich history town, The Shining Stars i.e. Primo, and Epico finally arrived on WWE Raw to show their in-ring skills and back up the Caribbean pride. They finished their opponents with the Shining Stars finishing maneuver.
Chris Jericho confronted Dean Ambrose
Chris Jericho has spent the last several months calling his opponents some variation of “stupid idiot.” Now after demanding an apology from Ambrose who destroyed the $15,000 lightening jacket last week, Y2J found himself trapped in a match at Extreme Rules without first asking for the stipulation. Ambrose later revealed it will be an Asylum match i.e. Ambrose’s own version of Steel Cage with weapons hanging around. And it will be contested in a no escape scenario as the roof will be filled with familiar weapons.
Dana Brooke vs. Becky Lynch
Just their debut on the main roster EnD got hitched by Emma who got stung with a back injury at a live event. Though, Emma’s partner Brooke is more than capable of holding herself on her own as she was seen punishing Becky Lynch on WWE Raw. She used the same strategy from Smackdown and picked the win with a roll-up but not before Becky put up a heck of a fight.
Tyler Breeze & Fandango def. The Golden Truth
So we have finally got the Golden Truth as a tag team on WWE Raw. Though, unfortunately, that did not turn out to be a winning affair since their opponents Tyler Breeze & Fandango were R-Truth and Goldust’s original, respective tag team partners as recently as last week. Truth accidentally nailed Goldust in the head with a heel kick and Breeze picked up the win as a result. Perhaps they have to spend sometimes more, together!
The New Day travelled back in time
This Sunday, The New Day will battle The Vaudevillains, who proclaim to be products of a bygone era. So to cope up with the past era New Day appeared on a time machine to travel backwards. But in the middle of their trip, The Vaudevillains attacked the Unicorns to bring them back into the present and tossed Xavier Woods through the time machine to punctuate their attack.
The Usos vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
It will be an Extreme Rules affair on Sunday, but their respective crews continued to hit back each other on WWE Raw. Usos took on Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson on Raw, and with Reigns and Styles in their respective teams’ corners. In the midst of the brawl, Jey Uso pinned Anderson with the frog splash from the top rope and then the affair turned into an all out brawl between the Family vs. the Usos. Styles finished off the segment by toppling Reigns with a chair and planting him with his pendant Styles Clash.
Big Cass vs. D-Von Dudley
Big Cass still has his streak going strong with Enzo on the shelf. It was the Dudleyz who demanded from the McMahons for some local talent to have a beat-down feast. But Cass proved them wrong with his bulldozer power. Dudleyz tried to distract by bringing a table but Big Cass booted Bubba in the face and pinned D-Von with the East River Crossing moments later.
Alberto Del Rio def. U.S. Champion Kalisto
During his bout with Del Rio, The King of Flight faced distraction as Rusev ambushed Sin Cara in the locker room area and dragged his semi-conscious body to ringside, where he slammed him into the steel ring post. With Kalisto distracted, Del Rio capitalized with a Backstabber for the win, and Rusev went on to lock in the Accolade on Kalisto for a long time. The officials had to come down to the ring as Rusev left his opponent with a painful message.
Charlotte and Natalya signed their WWE Women’s Championship Match contract
The final segment featured the hometown stylin’ n profilin’ lad Ric Flair, flanked by none other than the “daddy’s girl” Charlotte. Shane and Stephanie McMahon too, attended the segment as it was the official contract signing for Sunday’s WWE Extreme Rules match where Flair would be barred from the ringside in her daughter’s submissions title defense match. Flair introduced Charlotte with the panache that the Flairs are famous for. But a couple of stipulations ruined their moment instantly. Flair threw away his jacket and faced Stephanie only to get slapped by her. Natalya locked in the Sharpshooter thereafter on the champion to end WWE Raw.
