Extreme Rules had given us a mesmerising experience. It also paved the way for Summerslam storyline that started from last night’s episode of WWE Raw.
The Universal Champion’s return to the show was the focal point that discussed his current status. Check out the other happenings from the flagship show as well hosted by the KeyBank Center in Buffalo New York.
Kurt Angle was standing in the ring at the beginning of WWE Raw. He demanded Brock Lesnar to come to the ring or else the title-stripping will happen. Paul Heyman showed up and promises his client will defend the title at Summerslam. Six superstars showed up to take the number one contender’s place.
Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Elias, Finn Balor and Roman Reigns were amongst them. Kurt Angle announced the winners of two triple threat matches would face each other next week for the challenger’s spot.
Balor, Reigns, and McIntyre competed in the first match. McIntyre came up with a Glasgow Kiss and Claymore on Balor. Reigns sent him out of the ring and hit a spear on Balor to get the pinfall win and become a participant for contender’s match on next week’s WWE Raw.
Kurt Angle asked Bayley how the counselling went by with Sasha Banks. She told it was not well. So the WWE Raw GM arranged a tag team match where Bayley and Sasha teamed up against Dana Brooke and Alicia Fox. The fight went beyond the ring and continued. The referee counted all the four participants. A disgusted Sasha walked away from Bayley after that.
Dolph Ziggler appeared on WWE Raw to cut a promo on his IC title win. Bobby Roode interrupted him and remarked that McIntyre was the reason behind his victory. A heated conversation set up a non-title matchup between them. Roode tweaked his knee coming off a top rope move. Ziggler delivered a superkick for the win.
Mojo Rawley had a backstage confrontation with Bobby Roode. After that, he had a singles contest on WWE Raw against Tyler Breeze with a running forearm. The B-Team defeated The Ascension by hitting a back suplex/neckbreaker combo. Hardy and Wyatt promised to delete them after the match.
Alexa Bliss appeared on WWE Raw and started talking trash about the overhyped rookie, Ronda Rousey. Ronda made her way to the ring through the crowd. She neutralised Mickie and caught Bliss red-handed. Kurt Angle ran out and barred her from doing so. He promised a title match for Ronda at Summerslam to keep her calm.
Authors of Pain did some quick work against Titus Worldwide and won a tag team match after hitting the Last Chapter. Ember Moon had a match against Sarah Logan. Liv Morgan provided the distraction for Moon allowing Logan to pin Moon for the first time on the main roster.
The main event of WWE Raw witnessed a triple threat match featuring Elias, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley. Elias attacked Rollins while Lashley was making the entrance. Rollins still pulled off a stellar performance.
The closing moments saw Rollins ducking a spear from Lashley. Elias pulled him out of the ring but digested the spear from Lashley for the pinfall loss. Lashley became the second contender by virtue of this win.
