Builds for the upcoming Night of Champions strongly began on this week’s WWE Raw with the tournament for the returning World Heavyweight Championship. Seth Rollins was declared to be on the tournament finale while the rematch between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes has also been announced.
In addition, a couple of big matches for next week’s WWE Raw have also been declared including a championship encounter. As reported heading into the show, WWE has indeed paired up the team of Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville as an official tag team in the women’s tag division.

They got their wish as their petition paid off in the form of a WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match, next week on WWE Raw. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez will defend their titles against Damage CTRL first on this week’s Smackdown. Whoever wins this bout will have to defend the titles against Chelsea and Sonya on the May 15 episode.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez became the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on the April 10 episode of WWE Raw. Morgan pinned WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus to fulfill one of her childhood dreams/ Moving on, they already had a successful defense score against the team of Chelsea and Sonya.
“Longest reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions that ever existed of all time,” Morgan recently said on WWE’s The Bump about their goal in this title reign. “Not only that, but we are going to elevate this championship to the moon, and these are going to be the titles everyone wants and we’re gonna beat anyone and everyone that comes in our way.”
Over on WWE Raw, The Miz was trying to form a team with Shinsuke Nakamura called “Mizsuke,” but he didn’t receive positive feedback from the Japanese sensation, at all. Rather a fresh feud is seemingly booked between these two starting with their first match on next week’s show.

Also, scheduled for the show is Intercontinental Champion Gunther’s return on TV. This would be his first show-up on TV since getting drafted to WWE Raw during the Draft. With that, the current match card for next week’s episode goes as follows,
