WWE Superstars often go through unprecedented events during shows and IYO SKY isn’t immune to them. Sadly, for the former NXT Women’s Champion, she had to take care of business against a fan who was constantly throwing shade by telling her to “Go back to China,” even though she’s Japanese.
That is one of the moments that still sticks in IYO SKY’s mind, and her tag team partner, Dakota Kai. Recently, Ring The Belle had a sit-down with two Monday Night Raw roster members. Taking a trip back down memory lane, the two members remembered one fan at an NXT live event who offended them with some bizarre moments.

He was admittedly shouting at the top of his voice by calling IYO SKY “Chinese.” This is when the then-NXT star had to correct him in the middle of an ongoing match. Dakota Kai spoke about the incident in the conversation which she clearly remembers. In her opinion, that fan was a terrible human being anyway and her tag partner didn’t hesitate to put him in his place.
“Oh! Remember? NXT? That guy was being an asshole anyways. What are you doing? Get out of there. She was right to put you in your place bro.”
IYO SKY doesn’t want anyone to be judged by race
IYO SKY then added, “Oh yeah, I remember that, yeah. We can’t judge anything like race, you know? Race, yeah.” It’s unfortunate for WWE Superstars to go through these kinds of troubles since they are visible in public eyes due to their work commitments throughout the years. They also often become vulnerable on social media.
Sadly for IYO SKY, she experienced a similar kind of experience in her NXT days. After establishing herself as the genius of the sky with her NXT Women’s Title reign, the Japanese sensation was brought into the main roster so that she could showcase her talent in the mainstay scene.
Since her arrival on Raw back in the summer of 2022, IYO SKY has been part of the DAMAGE CTRL stable alongside Dakota Kai and Bayley. Alongside Kai, she became a two-time women’s tag team champion. She’s also become the number-one contender for Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.
