11 years ago to the same day of April 11 on WWE Raw, legendary professional wrestler Edge was forced to retire from in-ring competition. He was one of the very few wrestlers who were able to hang up his boots at the very top of his game. After all, who could think of retiring from action as a WWE World Heavyweight Champion?
After giving an emotional retirement speech on WWE Raw, Edge had to relinquish his world title on Smackdown on two back-to-back WWE TV episodes that were hard to digest for the WWE Universe. A veteran like Edge was needed on the roster but he was gone.

Edge was then inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2012 but the pledge of wrestling in the ring wasn’t fully gone. The multi-time champion was able to rectify his neck issues and made perhaps the most shocking return in WWE history as in action in 2020.

Since then, Edge has accomplished quite a few things – won the 2021 Men’s Royal Rumble, main evented WrestleMania, picked up victories at WrestleMania, feuded with top superstars like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles to deliver some dream matches. Plus, nowadays, he’s also become a leader of a faction on WWE Raw to possibly set legacies of the up-and-coming talents.
However, the WWE Hall of Famer is in doubt whether he continue as a top WWE Raw Superstar, three years from now. During a new interview with Steven’s Wrestling Adventure, the 48-year-old superstar admitted he isn’t looking forward to being with WWE as an active superstar for much longer.
“(It) won’t be ten (years), definitely won’t be ten,” Edge said, “I doubt it’ll be five, it’s gonna be before that. I don’t even think it’s going to be three. I don’t know, but I don’t think it’s going to be that long. I know the window is small.” (h/t Fightful).

Since his triumphant return at the 2020 Royal Rumble event, Edge has had some excellent matches against some top superstars from WWE Raw and Smackdown while he had also gone after the Universal Championship. With this new heel faction concept, the veteran is likely to entertain the fans. But only time will tell whether he’s been able to capture the world title, again before permanently retiring in 2025.
