Last week it was teased that a potential showdown between the WWE Raw vs. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion could be in store. The two respective champions, Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley are essentially on a collision course given their status on the roster. But, we still have to wait to receive that bout featuring the top babyface against the top heel superstars.
For the time being, we do know that a new number-one contender for The EST of WWE for her WWE Raw Women’s championship has been determined and that’s Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY.

Over on last night’s episode of WWE’s flagship show, SKY earned the WWE Raw women’s title match by defeating both “Michin’” Mia Yim and Piper Niven in a triple threat number one contender’s match. Interestingly, SKY and her tag team partner Dakota Kai were back with their team leader Bayley who might haven’t been that pleased to see SKY getting the spotlight.
After being absent from WWE Raw, last week, Bayley told both SKY and Dakota Kai backstage that WWE Official Adam Pearce granted one of them the spot in the triple threat match. SKY seemed to be much more vocal, demanding that their leader got one of them an opportunity instead of her competing in the title match.

DAMAGE CTRL has had tough times on WWE Raw
With that, Team DAMAGE CTRL got some good news after going through some rough patches in recent times. Bayley lost multiple WWE Raw women’s championship matches against Belair after which they also came up short against Team Belair at Survivor Series: WarGames last November in a WarGames Match.
Moving on, the team of SKY and Kai also lost their Women’s Tag Team Championships to Lita and Becky Lynch on the February 27 episode of WWE Raw. Then they came up short in a six-woman tag team match at WrestleMania 39 against those two alongside another WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. They also failed to earn another shot at those tag titles during last week’s Raw.
Speaking of the tag titles, this week’s WWE Raw also crowned new tag team champions in the form of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez as they defeated Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus (replacement of Lita due to injury) on the show.
