In a gap of barely 15 days, a new pair from WWE Raw, Chelsea Green, and Sonya Deville ended up becoming Women’s Tag Team Champions. The title change occurred as a result of the upcoming singles feud on the red brand over the WWE Women’s World Championship.
As seen on the July 17 episode of WWE Raw, Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley attacked WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez backstage and hurt her knee. This came after Raquel came in aid of Ripley’s opponents over the past couple of weeks.
Despite being hurt, Raquel informed WWE Official Adam Pearce that she wants to go ahead with the scheduled Women’s Tag Team Title defense on WWE Raw with Liv Morgan against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.

The idea absolutely backfired as the challengers started on a strong note against Morgan. At one point in the match, Deville punished Raquel with a Half-Boston Crab, further damaging her injured knee. Morgan got back the tag and she downed Green for a pin attempt but Deville ran in with a running knee to break things up.
Deville then again targeted the injured knee of Raquel and hit Morgan from outside the ring which allowed Green to hit Morgan with the Unpretty-Her finisher. Morgan surprisingly kicked out but Green immediately delivered another Unpretty-Her move which was followed by another knee from Deville, forcing Morgan to digest the pin-fall loss on WWE Raw.

WWE Raw: Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville’s comments on title win
In a backstage interview after the match, Byron Saxton asked Green and Deville about their title win in a 2-on-1 situation. Deville noted that Raquel’s injury was fake while her tag team with Green has been the best on WWE Raw. Over on Twitter, she wrote the following about the win: “8 years. 8 years we have been waiting for this photo. @ImChelseaGreen Thank you @TripleH ?????? AND NEW”
Green tweeted the following while mentioning that Triple H has been the best supporter of the duo, “Thank you to all of our fans. Especially our #1 supporter Mr @TripleH himself… he knew we would be stars, we just waited for the perfect moment to prove it!!!!!!”
Raquel and Morgan’s second reign with the tag titles ended on WWE Raw after just 16 days since beating Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler at Money in the Bank on July 1 after Baszler turned on Rousey. Reports suggest that Raquel will now be gunning the Women’s World Championship held by Rhea Ripley.
