The second last episode of WWE Raw before Royal Rumble 2021 will be presented tonight where the WWE Champion would be absent due to COVID-19 protocols. In his absence, Randy Orton is the headliner where he’ll discuss the Fireball Attack from last week. Also, Alexa Bliss will return to action when the show airs from the Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Randy Orton has been announced for WWE RAW, in a segment where he will address the recent fireball attack by Alexa Bliss that ruined his match against Triple H. Rumors are running that The Fiend could return in that segment to set up the Firefly Funhouse Match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The Fiend has not been off the TV since Orton defeated him in the Firefly Inferno Match at WWE TLC last month.
Orton announced on WWE Raw Legends Night during a backstage segment with WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, that he will be entering the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, but he’s also been speculated to face The Fiend in the above-mentioned gimmick match at the pay-per-view. Wrestling Observer Newsletter also noted that Orton’s Rumble announcement was a ‘red herring’ as plans could change. There’s no update on whether Orton will pull off double duties at Rumble.
WWE Raw Preview (18/01/21): Alexa Bliss vs Asuka
Interestingly, Orton is selling the Fireball attack by Alexa Bliss and is all bandaged up. Speaking of Bliss, she will feature in a non-title match against Asuka, who is the current WWE RAW Women’s Champion and one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. This will the first time she will be in a match since defeating Nikki Cross on the November 23 RAW. Perhaps it’s a way to bring Bliss back to the title picture.
The romantic angle that began on WWE Raw between Ric Flair and Lacey Evans has become very much interesting. Evans is claiming herself the stepmom of Charlotte Flair and is not leaving a single opportunity to taunt The Queen. Andrade has been teasing to come back and stand by Charlotte’s side as he is her real-life partner. This is the best thing that ten-time Women’s Champion can expect.
Bobby Lashley was furious about Riddle stealing a non-title win over him as a result of a mistake from the referee. He sought payback by tapping Riddle out with the Hurt Lock. Afterward, the United States Champion landed a crushing Spear, and beatdown on Riddle ensuring that the ongoing feud must be continuing when WWE Raw comes, live on the USA Network.
