Another packed episode of WWE Raw is waiting, this week that will also serve as the go-home episode for Clash at the Castle premium live event. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is going to be the headliner of the night from his hometown on a rare occasion.
A new set of Women’s Tag Team Champions will be crowned on the night where Seth Rollins and Riddle will come face-to-face before their PLE encounter. The Usos and Sami Zayn will also visit the red brand while Bobby Lashley is coming after The Miz when WWE Raw airs from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Survivor Series 2022: WWE Already Sold Out PLE Set For November?
WWE has been advertising a big return of legendary Kurt Angle on tonight’s episode to the company in his hometown of Pittsburgh. It hasn’t been announced what the former WWE Champion will be doing on the show except for the fact that he will be having a homecoming to remember amid a raucous crowd.
Angle last competed in a match in the WWE back in 2019. At WrestleMania 35, he featured in his final TV match which was a loss to Baron Corbin. On the very next episode of WWE Raw, he appeared for a farewell session but he was eventually taken out by the debuting Lars Sullivan. Later, he moved on with a backstage role as a producer in WWE but that stint came to an end during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Becky Lynch Vows To Return From Injury Within WWE Wrestlemania 39
Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Riddle are being promoted to have a face-to-face confrontation in the ring in this week’s WWE Raw. Tensions between the two men have been rising for more than a month. They were originally scheduled to compete in a match at Summerslam but that match has been postponed to Clash at the Castle, instead.
The feud began beginning after Riddle made comments about Rollins’ attack on Cody Rhodes, the night after Hell in a Cell. Thereafter, Riddle also delivered an RKO to Rollins off a ladder during the men’s Money In The Bank ladder match. Last week on WWE Raw, the two men were involved in a huge brawl to kick things off and thereby show how much bad blood has been gathered between them.
It’s also been confirmed that Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos and the honorary Bloodline member Sami Zayn will be on this week’s WWE Raw. They have not exactly been on the same page but it appears they will act together to promote Roman Reigns’ historic championship celebration set for this week’s Smackdown.
Also, the appearance comes just after a vicious beatdown that they have delivered to the number-one contender for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Drew McIntyre. Zayn may have lost his match against McIntyre but he was certainly happy to help out The Bloodline in taking out The Scottish Warrior.
WWE Raw Preview (29/08/22): US Champion in action
In an interesting segment, WWE United States Champion will be gunning for The Miz when WWE Raw airs, tonight. Over the past couple of weeks, the champion lived up to his All-Mighty status by successfully defending his title against the likes of Ciampa and AJ Styles.
Last week, he was focused on taking out The Miz in a tag team match but then Dexter Lumis dragged him away to cause a disqualification win. Since then, we have not heard or seen The Hollywood A-Lister as we also expect to hear from him before he goes toe-to-toe with the two-time former WWE Champion.
After remaining vacant for more than three months, WWE Women’s division Tag Team Championships will finally have new title-holders on this week’s WWE Raw. The final match of the ongoing tournament to crown new champions will culminate in where Dakota Kai and IYO SKY will face Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah. The winners of the match will be declared the new women’s tag team champions.
On this past episode of Smackdown, Natalya & Sonya Deville defeated WWE 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke & Tamina, Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop, and Shotzi & Xia Li to win a Second Chance Fatal-4-Way Tag Team Match and advance to the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament semifinal.
Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah then defeated the Fatal-4-Way match winner Natalya and Sonya Deville to advance to the Finals of the Women’s Tag Team Championship tournament. Last week on WWE Raw, IYO SKY and Dakota Kai defeated Alexa Bliss and Asuka in the first semifinal to cement their spot in the final.
