The curse over Women’s Tag Team Championships on WWE Raw continues to make an impact on the storylines. Once again, one of the reigning champions has been injured which would force the WWE to take the titles off them at a time when they didn’t even get a single chance to defend them in the first place.
After reports heading into this week’s WWE Raw confirmed that the reigning tag champion, Sonya Deville is dealing with an injury, she eventually confirmed the same via a message on social media which will put her on the shelf for an extended period.
While confirming the reports on the internet about her, Deville informed everyone about her ACL injury which should take up to six to nine months for recovery. She also into detail about the injury on social media around this week’s WWE Raw,
“As all of you probably already know and heard, I’ve torn my left ACL last week on ‘SmackDown’ in my match against Bianca and Charlotte. Obviously, I will be out for an extended period of time due to the fact that I have to get surgery tomorrow.”

WWE Raw: Women’s Tag Team Titles changed hands just last month
In a gap of just 15 days, a new pair from WWE Raw, Chelsea Green, and Sonya Deville ended up becoming Women’s Tag Team Champions, last month. The title change occurred as a result of the ongoing singles feud on the red brand over the WWE Women’s World Championship.
As seen on the July 17 episode of WWE Raw, Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley attacked WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Raquel Rodriguez backstage and hurt her knee. Despite being hurt, Raquel informed WWE Official Adam Pearce that she wants to go ahead with the scheduled Women’s Tag Team Title defense on WWE Raw with Liv Morgan against Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.
Taking advantage of the injury, Deville took out Raquel while Green pinned Morgan with her Unpretty-Her finisher to fulfill their dreams of becoming a champion in the WWE, one day. Little did they’d imagine dropping those titles without even one single defense. At present, there’s no update on what WWE plans to do with the titles.
