Roman Reigns coming back to WWE Raw prior to Wrestlemania was the headliner for this week. He was due with a response to Drew McIntyre’s Wrestlemania challenge. Kurt Angle continued his farewell tour on the show whereas a couple of more title matches became official for April 7th. Here are the results from this week’s WWE Raw that took place from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
WWE Raw Women’s Champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey kicked off this week’s show addressing first-ever women’s Wrestlemania main event. That gets a cheer for the crowd and they started chanting for Becky Lynch. THE MAN soon arrived into the scene to the delight of the crowd followed by Charlotte Flair to start a beat the clock challenge.
The Riott Squad entered the scene to take on against the three main-eventers. Ronda Rousey started by taking on Sarah Logan. She countered an inverted cloverleaf, elbowed her and applied the armbar to beat Logan in 1:25 minutes.
Charlotte Flair was up next against Ruby Riott in the WWE Raw beat the clock challenge. She went for the Natural Selection, but Riott countered with a DDT. Flair kicked out of it and locked in Figure Eight but time expired. Becky Lynch was up next against Liv Morgan who beat the clock via a dropkick and connected with a jackknife pin to win with 7 seconds to spare!
Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley and Jinder Mahal was the next match on WWE Raw with a stipulation. If Balor wins, he will get an IC title shot at Wrestlemania 35. Balor hit a summersault senton on everyone and connected with the Coup De Grace on Mahal to pick up a quick win. Lashley was furious and attacked Singh Brothers after the match. Mahal also received a spear to end the segment.
Aleister Black and Ricochet vs. The Revival was the next tag team match on WWE Raw. A brawl broke out to start the match but Black took control hitting double-knees on Dawson. But he came back with a DDT to which Black countered with one Black Mass to both members of The Revival. Ricochet connected with the 630-splash to pick up the win.
Drew McIntyre arrived in the ring bragging about hurting Roman Reigns, two weeks ago. He blasted Reigns’ family for sometimes before The Big Dog appeared in the scene. He accepted McIntyre’s Wrestlemania challenge and attacked him. But McIntyre hit back with a low blow and put him down with a Claymore Kick.
Sasha Banks went up against Natalya in a rematch from last week. It started with a surfboard from Nattie but Banks countered with double knees. Natalya went for the Sharpshooter but Banks got out of it. Banks then countered it with the Bank Statement to which Nattie rolled through for a Sharpshooter. Nia Jax and Tamina ran down and hit all the women around to disqualify the match. Phoenix hit Tamina with the Glam Slam to stand tall.
Alexa Bliss welcomed everyone to A Moment of Bliss on WWE Raw. She introduced Braun Strowman as his special guest as Michael Che and Colin Jost appeared via satellite. Strowman wanted Che and Jost to enter the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. So Alexa Bliss made this official.
Baron Corbin vs. Apollo Crews was next matchup on WWE Raw. Crews was in control by sending Corbin shoulder-first into the ring post. Crews hit a step-up enzuigiri and connected with a frog splash for a near fall. But Corbin countered with a sudden End of Days for the win.
Seth Rollins appeared next to talk about the Universal Championship match against Brock Lesnar. He wants to continue the legacies set by champions like Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Triple H, and John Cena. Paul Heyman interrupted the promo to taunt him but Rollins chased him down. He promised to burn down the Suplex City at Wrestlemania.
Kurt Angle vs. the WWE United States Champion Samoa Joe eas the next match on WWE Raw. Joe promised to put Angle into sleep prior to the match. He started with a snapmare kick followed by a suicidal dive to keep Angle down. But Angle countered a Chokehold attempt and rolled up Joe for the win.
Triple H was out next to talk about Batista and the scheduled Wrestlemania match. Apparently, the Animal wanted to move the date of WrestleMania to accommodate his shooting schedule. He also wanted to put Triple H’s career on the line. So The Game accepted it so that he can give a beatdown of a lifetime to Batista.
Dean Ambrose vs. Drew McIntyre in Last Man Standing match was the main event of this week’s WWE Raw. Ambrose came off the top rope with a flying elbow drop but McIntyre moved out of the way. McIntyre hit a Glasgow Kiss and put Ambrose through a table. He further hit a Claymore Kick on Ambrose to put him down for the referee’s ten counts. The show came to an end with McIntyre celebrating.
