Former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed made a choking return during the latest episode of WWE Raw. Creating more surprise among the audience for the flagship show of WWE, he also formed a team with The Miz and thereby helped to regain all the money that he owed to Dexter Lumis.

Primarily, The Miz vs. Dexter Lumis was set in a Winner Takes All ladder match, serving as one of the co-main-events of WWE Raw from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Lumis almost secured the win upon climbing the ladder until Reed arrived at the ring and grabbed his leg to pull him down to the mat.

Reed would continue his attack on Lumis with an Avalanche followed by the Tsunami top rope splash. He then proceeded to set up the ladder in the middle of the ring so that The Miz can climb the ladder and grab the money to win the match. The segment on WWE Raw ended with The Miz and Reed posing together, seemingly confirming their new on-screen alliance.

Reed’s return was already hinted at heading into WWE Raw

Reed’s WWE comeback wasn’t a complete surprise for those who keep track of the pro-wrestling industry. Last month, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer about WWE offering Reed a contract to return to the promotion. Several other outlets confirmed the report adding that the Triple H-led regime had significant interest in bringing back the former champion.

Heading into WWE Raw, Fightful Select also reported hearing rumblings within the WWE locker room of Reed’s imminent return, right there. Proving those speculations right, the Australian Superstar showed up on the live telecast of WWE’s flagship show. Previously, Cameron Grimes was rumored to debut on the main roster in this capacity which wasn’t the case.

As a former NXT North American Champion, Reed was pushed as one of the top stars on the NXT brand and was also considered for a main roster call-up after he wrestled dark matches on WWE SmackDown in June 2021. However, he was suddenly released from the company just a few months later instead of debuting on WWE Raw/Smackdown. Since then, he created a JONAH gimmick to compete in promotions such as NJPW, PROGRESS, and IMPACT Wrestling.
