WWE News: Planning on the Newly Debuting Factions on Raw and Smackdown

The landscape of the entire women’s division has changed over the last couple of weeks on both Raw and Smackdown. Five new debuts happened on the shows with a former champion returning to alter the course. It has also given a boost to the storyline perspective for the female roster which was otherwise becoming stale.

Over on WWE Raw, Paige returned on the post-Survivor Series edition. But she did not come on her own. Rather, two names from NXT, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville accompanied her to the ring creating a new group. For two consecutive weeks, they beat down the hell out of the prime names on the Raw women’s division to deliver a major statement.

The same can be said for the team debuting on Smackdown Live, as well comprising of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan. They have taken over the division by already taking out two prominent names from the roster. Becky Lynch was the first victim of their attack to get sidelined, whereas, Naomi suffered the same consequence, last week.

Going forward, big planning is waiting for both the teams. As per the updates from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the championship storyline got changed on Smackdown Live with the new names debuting on the show. Previously, Charlotte Flair was supposed to get a new opponent for her title in the form of Tamina Snuka. It is why we have seen Lana grooming her to be a championship material.

But, this feud was scraped with the team Riott Squad showing up. Going forward, this team will feature in a rivalry against Charlotte Flair. It might lead to a singles match or tag team match at the upcoming Clash of Champions PPV. The leader of the squad, Ruby Riott might also get a championship opportunity, sooner.

On WWE Raw, Paige has named her team as the Absolution, and the good news is in-store for her, as well. As per the rumours, WWE might be planning to make them, as the female counterpart of The Shield from the male roster. In that case, they will be known as the strongest factions in the women’s division, going forward. This will hand away Paige, a championship opportunity, going forward after a long time.
