After turning heel a week ago on WWE Raw, Trish Stratus returned to the show, last night to provide an update on the situation. The WWE Hall of Famer appeared on the April 17 episode of the red brand show to address her recent attack on Becky Lynch. The sum-up to the whole incident was that she declared herself as the reason why women’s wrestling needs to be taken seriously.
Trish Stratus came out on Raw and took us through memory lane by talking about her history in this business. Back in 2000 when she debuted, women’s wrestling was a joke. She said she was the trailblazer to change that perspective. She sarcastically left Lita’s name from the mix before revealing that she’s also the person to take Lita out of commission.

Trish Stratus also blamed the fans for not chanting “Thank you Trish” in the main event of WrestleMania 35 in 2019, which was the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event. It was added that Becky Lynch never thanked her for opening the door for the next generation. Plus, she was sick to see Lita becoming Becky’s sidekick at WrestleMania 39.

“Trish Stratus is nobody’s sidekick,” The WWE Hall of Famer continued with her promo. “I took out Lita, yeah. And the reason I needed Lita out of the picture is because I needed it to be crystal clear that the person who scr**ed Becky Lynch out of her titles was me.”

Trish Stratus’ appearance on Raw and her promo has sparked rumors of a potential dream match between her and Becky Lynch, down the road. Over the past couple of days, rumors stated that this match could go down at Backlash within three weeks. But Wrestling Observer noted that this match is scheduled for SummerSlam 2023 in early August.
Back in February, the storyline began after Trish Stratus returned to Raw to help Lita and Becky Lynch, defeat Dakota Kai and IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Last week in the absence of Lita, Trish took her place but came up short in a tag team title match with Becky against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to drop those belts. It was after the match that Trish attacked Becky to turn heel.
