For weeks now, rumors are running rampant about Trish Stratus possibly turning heel after getting neglected in the ongoing return storyline for herself and Lita. While the latter has managed to become a champion alongside Becky Lynch, the remaining of the trio was turned into a sidekick which continued through Wrestlemania 39. Ultimately, things came to a big blow, last night on Raw.
Over on the April 10 episode of Raw, Lita was attacked backstage by a mystery attacker. She was in no condition to compete in a match and hence was taken to a local medical facility. This led to Trish Stratus being named as her replacement for the scheduled WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship defense scheduled for later on the show.

Moving on, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez ended up defeating Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch (c) to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. The finish of the bout saw Lynch taking out Rodriguez with a dive on the outside while her partner went for the chick kick. But Morgan dodged the kick and rolled up Stratus to secure the win for her team to win the championship belts.
After the match, Lynch entered the ring to check on Trish Stratus. After some consolation, Lynch turned her back to leave the ring when she was attacked by her one-night tag partner with a flurry of right hands. Lynch wanted to rise on her feet but she was kept down with the chick kick. Byron Saxton to get some explanation, backstage about the attack but the WWE Hall of Famer left the building.

Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch in the pipeline for future?
With that, the reign of Lynch and Lita with the WWE women’s tag team titles came to an end. They were champions for just 43 days after they beat Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai and IYO SKY) on the February 27 edition of Raw. The title change marks Rodriguez’s second run with the Tag Team Titles while Liv won the tag gold for the very first time.
For the time being, the WWE Universe will only have to wait to get answers from Trish Stratus around this heel turn. There’s certainly going to be a lot of speculations but a matchup between her and Becky Lynch is in the pipeline for sure which should be her second-only match of 2023. The started feud is expected to slowly unfold on TV in due course.
