Brock Lesnar is the biggest box office attraction that WWE had built over the last decade. He helped the company to draw a lot of tickets when it comes to bigger pay-per-view events. Not having the top attraction around the WWE could hamper their company, big-time and that could be approaching, real quickly. The retirement came to attention when he was reportedly telling people about finishing up his career.
On the road to WrestleMania 39, it was reported that Brock Lesnar was telling people at Raw that his time in the WWE was up. Despite that, the top superstar was around on most of the Raw episodes while gearing up for a mega match against another gigantic figure in the company, Omos. More such matches could be in store but the choice of getting more paychecks depends on himself.
Wrestlemania 39: Spoiler On Another Major Championship Change From WWE Smackdown
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently opened up a bit about Brock Lesnar’s current status with the WWE. It was noted that the contract of the multi-time champion is always kept very close to the vest and only a few selected backstage officials know what’s going on around it.
Brock Lesnar’s contract with WWE generally expires around Wrestlemania
Typically Brock Lesnar’s contract expires around the biggest event of the year, WrestleMania. Here’s more from what the source had to offer,
“Regarding rumors of Lesnar. There were reports Lesnar had told people he’d be leaving soon and within the company the word had circulated. The only thing we know is that everything about Lesnar and what he’s doing is kept top secret and that Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, Paul Levesque know, and maybe two others know and nobody else does.”
The last time Brock Lesnar left the WWE for an extended period was when he was defeated by Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36. It was noted back then that the former champion’s contract with the WWE was over back then and he wasn’t willing to make a comeback to the company, either. However, Vince McMahon managed to drag him back to the WWE by throwing a lot of money at him.
PWInsider was the outlet that reported behind their paywall that Brock Lesnar was saying goodbye to some people during an appearance on Raw. He reportedly said that he was “finishing up” with the company after which the rumors of the marquee name leaving the company started swirling. However, a source for the outlet later noted that he was not “necessarily” done with WWE at WrestleMania, but this was an interesting tease made by The Beast, backstage.
