A couple of top WWE Superstars are out of action for the past several months due to injuries including Randy Orton and AJ Styles. WWE eventually had to proceed with these names in the WrestleMania 39 season. Despite these absences, the event was a grand success and the company will transition into a new era as the internal landscape is about to change with the WWE-UFC merger deal.
AJ Styles has been out of action for months and it is likely that he still has a long road to recovery much like Randy Orton. His last match on WWE television took place on December 19th, 2022 when he suffered a loss at the hands of Sami Zayn. Just a couple of days later, he suffered a fatal ankle injury at a WWE live event and hence got sidelined throughout the Road to WrestleMania 39.

Speaking about the injury, AJ Styles had already said that this ankle injury will call for the longest break of his career in the ring. In an update, Ringside News offered more to the situation by contacting their reliable sources. They were told that no update regarding The Phenomenal One has been given. That being said, the former WWE Champion will still be unavailable until further notice.
AJ Styles could miss several months before returning to TV
A recovery from the broken ankle that AJ Styles has suffered can take at least six to twelve weeks to be healed up.
“It may be several months before you can return to sports at your previous competitive level,” as stated by the University of Connecticut. Since WWE Superstars compete at a very high level, he will need months to recover and we may not expect him to be back on WWE TV for weeks to follow.
Once AJ Styles is medically cleared to compete, WWE Officials will have to insert him into the storyline perspective and it can also take up time. Without a specific timespan available, only time will tell how long the trusted shoulder of the WWE will be missing action. His absence also halted momentums for his tag partners Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
AJ Styles suffered a genuine ankle injury in a match at a WWE live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Since fans were very concerned for his well-being after the incident, he took to Twitter and offered the following to give an update on his situation,
“Just want you guys to know that I’m ok. Broken ankle is what I’m dealing with. No surgery, this just takes some time to recover. This will be the longest I’ve ever been out of the ring. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes.”
