Summerslam is only a few days away from us. It is the biggest event of the summer where we can surely expect to see some surprises to make the show a memorable one.
The marquee superstars from the company will be competing on the show to make it a successful outing.
The lineups of these matches are gradually getting set up. The rumour mills are continually providing updates on what shockers we can expect to see at Summerslam. Speculations are quite high with the outcome of the Universal Championship match. Brock Lesnar is set to defend the title finally after three months.
Rumours suggested the beast incarnate is finally dropping the championship. It will be after one and a half year that WWE Raw superstars will finally be able to run after the prime championship, consistently.
It will be Lesnar’s first step to go to the UFC promotion. He will start preparing for Daniel Cormier that can only happen, next year. There’s no update whether he will be available for WWE after this. Currently, the Barclays Center is advertising him on the night after Summerslam.
Apart from this, the raucous crowd can expect the return of Dean Ambrose. The crowd will burst out once this happens either at Summerslam or the night after it. Reports from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated the following on it,
“He’s supposed to be back sometime by I think pretty soon. I was told late-Summer, and we’re mid-Summer so it shouldn’t be too long.”
Speculations also suggested the Lunatic Fringe will make a big impact upon comeback. A potential heel turn is happening with him making either Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins his victim. The scene will certainly heat up if this happens.
Furthermore, we can never rule out a return of the Undertaker. The Observer reported there’s no finalisation about his appearance at Summerslam. There’s a chance that WWE might plan to do a rematch around him. John Cena is the likely name to compete against him.
However, he is nowhere near either to come back to the WWE, anytime soon. Taker’s body is also a matter of speculation at this point. If he feels to go in an extra match, then the bout is most likely happening. Currently, WWE has booked him only for the Super Show Down at Melbourne, Australia.
