A retro Raw is likely to air on WWE programming at the beginning of 2022. WWE tries to dedicate an episode of RAW to the Old School Legends, each year as this brings back the nostalgia acts for the hardcore wrestling fans. The tradition might just continue, next year as another such occasion is being planned, it appears.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Wrestling Podcast was the one to report that WWE is bringing back the old school feel for another special ‘Retro Raw’ episode that is scheduled for January 2022. There’s no confirmed update on when and where the 2022 edition of this old-school Raw will take place, but more details are expected to arrive as we get closer to the new year. WWE event listing should also reflect the possible host venue of this special episode on the USA Network.

These kinds of Retro Raw episodes with an Old School feel are usually a good way to increase viewership since fans of the previous era (who don’t watch on a regular basis) also tune in for surprises. WWE Retro Raw has been hosted in the last decade
The last time WWE did something similar to this was earlier this year in January, which was touted as the RAW Legends Night. Afterward, WWE experimented with a similar thing on a Friday night to host a Throwback Smackdown episode. Both these episodes went down from the ThunderDome with zero fans in the audience while we expect Retro Raw to be a live show with fans in attendance.
WWE already hosted a number of retro Raw episodes. Back in November 2010, the company held the first of its kind episode. Then they continued the tradition by hosting olds school Raw episodes in March 2013 and January 2014. The name, Retro Raw episode hasn’t been used for about eight years now. We expect more clarifications about the same in due course.
WWE has recently announced PPV events for the 2022 calendar year and we also expect the schedule of upcoming Raw and Smackdown episodes for next year including the one for Retro Raw.
