WWE: Latest on Rey Mysterio not signing up for Impact Wrestling

Rey Mysterio signing a contract with the WWE has been a major topic of speculations for the pro-wrestling fans ever since he came back during the Royal Rumble PPV. Entering in the number 27 spot, he turned out to be one of the final 6 participants in the prestigious battle royal.

Also, the crowd gave him a standing ovation after seeing him back in the scene after almost 4 years.

Considering that he is a legendary name and one of the most popular superstars of this generation, the fans do want to see him retire in the grandest way possible.

In order to do so, a final with the WWE is evident. Even, the master of 619 is well-aware of that and hence he is willing to come back for the potential run that might come to fruition.

This is one of the reasons why the veteran pro-wrestler has not signed with WWE’s rival brand, Impact Wrestling promotion.

For quite sometimes, the officials have offered him a contract which is yet to be finalized as the masked Luchador is still waiting to get a green signal from the WWE officials.

A report from SportsKeeda.com stated that Rey Mysterio was a potential signee of Impact Wrestling in the recent past.

It was likely that he would be pitted against Alberto El Patron on April 22nd’s Redemption PPV hosted by the company.

Later, Austin Aries signed with the brand replacing the high-flying superstar which is why a deal did not come to fruition.

Ever since parting ways with the WWE in 2014, Mysterio used to work in the Lucha Underground promotion.

Check out e more updates regarding this stated by the source:

“Furthermore, Mysterio was earning about $1 million working with Lucha Underground in 2016. But, even with LU’s tapings falling apart, he still couldn’t work with the WWE until mid-January 2018, as the LU contract disallowed him from appearing on TV for any promotion that Lucha Underground wasn’t working with.”

At this point, the former WWE World Champion is still an independent wrestler who has not signed a lengthy contract with any promotion which is why there’s a chance to see him in the WWE, again.

In a time when he is 43-year old, it will not be possible for him to work on a regular schedule. Rather, a part-time arrangement will be better for him.
