WWE News: Roman Reigns Defends Intercontinental Title Against Triple H, Tonight 1

Roman Reigns has proved to be a fighting Intercontinental Champion, so far who is working hard to make the belt, the most prestigious title in the present WWE.

It is much-needed considering the most viable title on the WWE Raw roster is absent from the show, as Brock Lesnar is on a hiatus since the Survivor Series PPV. So, the creative heads of the red team are treating the IC title as in the main event picture.

Ever since winning the championship from The Miz, the franchise player of the company has defended it for a couple of times as part of the open challenges and retained it with dominance. But, tonight, he will be getting his biggest challenge in the form of Triple H.

WWE is currently in the midst of a live tour in the eastern region countries. As reported earlier, Triple H and Roman Reigns will compete in a match in a house show at Abu Dhabi, tonight. This marquee match has been converted into an Intercontinental Championship match, as reported by Gulfnews.com.

It is not the first time that these two will lock horns in the squared circle. Previously, they sold out the biggest Wrestlemania of all-time concerning the crowd in attendance, last year. The match took place at the main event of the show at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. So, this is going to be a rematch between the two of them.

Before heading into the match, The Big Dog had a chat with the source where he sounded eager to go against the cerebral assassin of the WWE,

“I’m super excited. Going against Triple H, I think that speaks for itself. I’m always down to defend my yard… It’s not just a regular match, it’s for my Intercontinental title. I’m looking forward to putting it up on the line… that’s the type of champion I want to be.”

The capacity is quite different between the two of them. They were bitter rivals while main-eventing the Show of Shows, whereas, earlier this year, Triple H acted as part of The Shield. So, The Game continued noted in the fight stating,

“I bring a different intensity that my era brought to the ring. This is kind of a rematch from WrestleMania 32… and Roman is probably one of the most intense competitors in the WWE right now, so I look forward to stepping into the ring with him. He calls himself the ‘Big Dog’, I call myself ‘The Game’… So, we’ll see.”
