WWE Rumor: Chris Jericho Will Lose The United States Title On Smackdown Live 1

Chris Jericho has become the new United States champion at the Payback PPV on Sunday. As reported earlier, this came as a complete shocker to the pro-wrestling fans.

It was totally uncalled for since he was supposed to leave WWE upon conclusion of this match. It would have marked the end of the Owens vs. Jericho feud, as well.

But, in contrast, Chris Jericho won the title giving the rumour mill a tough task to find out the truth about his future. He is now the member of Smackdown Live, officially, as per the stipulation of the match. This had also put a bigger question mark on his stint, at this time.

The recent speculations had suggested that the second US title of Jericho came as a reward for his dream run in the company that started back in January 2016. He was supposed to leave the company on many different occasions but that never happened with Vince McMahon and the fans not willing to let him go.

However, his schedule with the music band Fozzy is still intact indicating that he has no choice but to leave, this time. This fuelled up the possibility of a rematch between him and Kevin Owens on this week’s Smackdown Live.

Furthermore, WWE confirmed the match to happen on their official website.

As per the speculations, Y2J will drop the title to Owens to officially end his stint. On the other hand, the prizefighter might deliver an attack to the veteran performer to sideline him from WWE storyline. This would help WWE to advertise that Jericho is out due to injury.

The tour of Fozzy musical nights will start from May 4th which is on Wednesday. So, Jericho would be done with WWE if he drops the title on the previous night on Smackdown Live. There should not be any problem with the audience with this decision since WWE allowed Jericho to seek redemption against Owens.

Also, the updated schedule of the next Smackdown-exclusive PPV backlash does advertise Jericho to defend the US title at the All-States arena in Chicago. But, on the same night, he is also scheduled to perform with Fozzy in Morgantown.

Considering that WWE event card keeps on changing, it is likely that Jericho would be removed from it in the future. But, he would be a great asset on Smackdown Live once he returns from the musical tour, later in the year.
