As per the WWE contract of Brock Lesnar, he wrestles only in four PPVs in the calendar year. Summerslam, Royal Rumble, and Wrestlemania are a must for him and he is already done with these three in 2016.
He started 2016 by appearing at the Royal Rumble PPV in the prestigious Rumble event. He followed it with a number one contender’s triple threat match at Fastlane for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the very next month. He had his Wrestlemania match against Dean Ambrose in April. He returned to face Randy Orton at Summerslam and is already done with this year’s wrestling stint.
However, he will do an additional house show against Orton on September 24th at the All-State arena in Chicago, Illinois. This is going to be the rematch from Summerslam. Since, Randy Orton is still dealing with the concussions from Summerslam we don’t yet know whether he will be able to compete, or not.
With that being said Brock Lesnar is not supposed to be back this year anymore. The rumor mill suggests that his next scheduled opponent will be none other than the WWE Universal Champion, Kevin Owens. The match is going to take place at the Royal Rumble PPV, next year.
Owens is not supposed to drop the title, anytime soon and will get Triple H in his corner to retain it, every time. So, he is going to topple Seth Rollins’ challenge in the upcoming months. Once he is done with Rollins, he might end up getting Cesaro as the next opponent. The Swiss Superman is going to win the best of seven series which is culminating at the Clash of Champions PPV.
As promised by Mick Foley, he will get the title shot, thereafter. However, he is not supposed to be the Universal Champion, in the near future and hence Lesnar will challenge the champion for the Championship. The Owens vs. Lesnar match was earlier scheduled for a live event in Hawaii. But, that did not happen since Lesnar was not part of the tour.
