There has been quite a speculation over who would be Kurt Angle’s opponent after he returned to the company, earlier this year. Vince McMahon appointed him as the general manager of Monday Night Raw indicating that at one point, he will be pitted in a match. This kept the rumour mill ongoing with the possible opponents that could face the WWE Hall of Famer.
As per the earlier reports, Triple H, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles were the front-runners in this list. It was also stated that he might be back inside the ring by competing in a match at Summerslam. However, that possibility was ruined after the ongoing storyline around him revealed Jason Jordan was his own son. It remained unclear as of who kept on sending him threatening messages.
In the latest edition of the Dirty Sheets podcast, it was revealed that Kurt Angle will be having a surprising opponent while returning to the ring. It is going to be none other than the current Intercontinental Champion, The Miz.
The rivalry between Kurt’s son Jason Jordan and The Miz has already been started with the help of The Miz TV segment on Raw. This will lead to a Summerslam matchup between these two. It is unclear whether the title would change hands at that night but the source has suggested that from Summerslam onwards, the Hollywood A-lister will engage in a feud with the Raw general manager which will his first rivalry following his return.

We can expect these two to lock horns at some point in the near future. Most probably, it might take place at the Survivor Series PPV. Last year, Goldberg returned to in-ring action since he was associated with the presenter of the PPV, WWE 2K18. This year, Kurt Angle is in the same role and is expected to be back, as well.
The feud will kick-off with numerous verbal altercations between Angle and The Miz much like it happened with the Smackdown GM, Daniel Bryan. This match never culminated since Bryan is not cleared to compete, ever again.
But, the scenario is completely different with the Raw GM as he is more than capable of lacing up his shoes, once again. This would also be a benefit for the WWE to sell out a major PPV, later this year.
