In the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, it was announced that Goldberg will be the one to challenge Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship. The match will be the main event of the Fastlane PPV on March 5th which will finalize the lineups for Wrestlemania.
He is the rumored one to come put victorious at that event to officially make the final match between him and Lesnar, a championship match. This also confirms the fact that he will be the one to main event this year’s Wrestlemania with the beast incarnate. It’s quite obvious that his schedule will be jam-packed around the course of next month as he will be the title holder in the WWE.
However, the original planning with him was much different than this one. He was just contracted for one match against Lesnar set to happen at the Survivor Series PPV. Lesnar would go on to defeat him on that and then he would go on to the Hall of Fame class of 2017. This would also mark an end to his illustrious career.
But, the fans’ reaction and tv rating changed the entire complexion of the booking so much so that Kevin Owens will drop his title to a so-called part-timer. Not only he will earn it but also be the main event of Wrestlemania at this year’s edition which is another accolade for an individual.
After Vince McMahon booked him in the title scenario, WWE came up with Kurt Angle’s name to make him the first ballad Hall of Famer for this year. The creative event thought of the name of Daniel Bryan but that got canceled for a different reason.
Angle will be back on WWE TV during the Hall of Fame ceremony set to take place on March 31st. With this appearance, he will also be a regular part of WWE TV. Probably, he will be making an appearance as the Raw GM replacing Mick Foley. He might also be replacing the star power of Goldberg who would be done with WWE after Wrestlemania.
