Shane McMahon is always considered to be a marquee attraction for a bigger PPV. Ever since he returned to the WWE back in 2016, this has been the norm that some of the big-four PPV events will definitely feature his name. In case you have forgotten, his death-defying jump from the top of the Hell in a Cell structure saved the entire Wrestlemania 32 event.
From that point onwards, the Smackdown commissioner has always been used in a bigger capacity. With Wrestlemania 34 coming up, it is certain that this man will wear his in-ring gear for one more time. The question is who he is going to face, this time around. From the ongoing storyline angles, one of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn should be his rival.
However, this is not the case, at all. According to the recent updates, Shane McMahon is going to face a brand new opponent at the showcase of immortals. It was reported by Brad Sheperd at Backstage in WWE that Dolph Ziggler from Smackdown Live will be facing his boss at the upcoming PPV.
As revealed by the source, this is the current backstage planning of the creative team. So, in the upcoming weeks, a new storyline angle will pick up in the blue brand. This is going to be something very fresh that we have never witnessed before. Check out the updates from here, (courtesy RingSideNews.com)
“It looks like plans have recently changed and now Shane McMahon’s match, it sounds like his opponent will be Dolph Ziggler. From what I’ve been told, that’s what they are looking to do.”
Some of the fans may not like this much since this will not be a bigger lineup. However, to date, Dolph Ziggler has not been involved in a one-on-match at Wrestlemania despite being a veteran star on the roster. He has recently signed a new contract with the company which might hand him a match where he can finally steal the spotlight,
“Shane has got to have his match and Dolph has never had a singles match at WrestleMania. It will be a good match, that’s fine. Not everything I am dying to see but… That will be something to watch for if they do go with that — we should start seeing that build soon.”
The previous happening from Smackdown Live hinted that Shane McMahon is heading towards a match against Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 34. These two have been involved in a bitter feud for the last few months which needs to culminate. However, it does not look like that the creative team is arranging this. Rather, they will use the show-off on this upcoming grand occasion.
