We have seen Undertaker last in the match against Shane McMahon at Wrestlemania 32. Earlier reports suggested that he was unhappy with the fact that Vince McMahon told him to digest a loss against Shane in the match. Though he came out victorious in the match he was heard telling backstage people that he is not willing to continue anymore.
We have only got rumors after Wrestlemania regarding the Undertaker. While we thought he would show up during the time of WWE Draft, his name was not included on the roster. After that, WWE decided to put him on the list of free agents. However, the rumor mill continued that the Undertaker is supposed to join the Smackdown brand since several online pictures appeared on Instagram of the Deadman having a talk with Shane McMahon.
Recent rumors suggest that the Undertaker is going to return at the Royal Rumble PPV which is going to be the first big PPV of the year, 2017. Both Raw and Smackdown will be participating at the PPV that is going to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
A report from four-three-four.com suggests that Undertaker will return to the Royal Rumble PPV to build up the feud between him and John Cena that will culminate at the Wrestlemania 33 edition. It is a must mention that next year’s appearance will mark Undertaker’s 25th appearance at the grandest stage. So, it is perhaps going to be the last time we will see the phenom at the showcase of immortals and who better to make that memorable than the franchise of the company.
This match was originally planned for this year’s Wrestlemania. However, Cena’s sudden shoulder injury nixed out all the plans. Cena too is supposed to make his return at the Royal Rumble PPV after he is done with his shooting of American Grit on Fox TV. If Undertaker vs. Cena does happen then it is going to be the main event of Wrestlemania 33.
