WWE Super ShowDown was the place where we have seen the Universal Championship on the line. Seth Rollins is the current champion who defended against Baron Corbin in the opening contest of the night. The curiosity was low on this match as the audience does not like the challenger, Baron Corbin, at all.

Furthermore, Brock Lesnar was about to cash in Money in the Bank contract on that night that kept the fans on their toe. They were almost sure of Seth Rollins successfully defending against Baron Corbin. But Lesnar’s appearances could have crowned a new champion in the form of the beast incarnate. Eventually, the night ended on a note where Rollins conquered both the opponents standing over him.

Now, as much as the audience would not like to see Baron Corbin in the main event picture, WWE has some other idea around him. If rumors are true then Vince McMahon thinks he is doing extremely well as a heel superstar. Hence, he won’t be quitting the main event scene, anytime soon. Rather, we may see him end up becoming the new Universal Champion.

As per a Rumor Roundup from cagesideseats.com, WWE already thought of crowning Baron Corbin as the new Universal Champion. Perhaps, the idea of a title alteration was there when WWE visited Saudi Arabia but they did not go with that. The chances are still there as we are heading to Stomping Grounds.

Seth Rollins will defend the Universal Championship against Baron Corbin, once again at the upcoming PPV. But the interesting part is that there will be a special guest referee. Corbin gets to choose the official for this PPV match that will certainly provide him the upper-hand. Perhaps, this is the angle that may help the title disappearing from Rollins.

The idea of crowning Baron Corbin as the prime champion on WWE Raw could backfire as he is not a popular star on the roster, as well. Seeing him as the title-holder could force the fans to stop watching Monday Night Raw and thereby dropping the viewership, once again. After all, the WWE Universe will not go with the idea to see an unpopular star like him carrying the prime title on Raw.
