WWE Rumor: WWE To Unify Championships At Wrestlemania 35 Main Event 1

The happenings on Smackdown Live shocked the pro-wrestling universe by all means. We were about to have a new number one contender for Asuka who’d go on to defend her title against her at Wrestlemania 35. WWE eventually scraped that off and replaced the original match with a title bout. Thereafter, Charlotte Flair emerged as the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.

With Wrestlemania 35 just a few days away, there’s a sole reason behind this shocking title altercation in the Smackdown brand. Apparently, WWE creative might have been unable to come up with proper plans for both the women’s championships present on Raw and Smackdown brand. So there’s a chance that the title becomes unified.

A rumor roundup from cagesideseats.com hinted the same stating big plannings are in-store for Wrestlemania 35. WWE might be planning a title unification for the Women’s Championships at Wrestlemania 35. So we can’t say Charlotte Flair winning the Smackdown women’s championship was not any random booking ahead of the ‘show of shows’.

It does make a lot of sense since the WWE creative team has been unable to make proper Wrestlemania plans for the former Smackdown women’s champion Asuka. She is one of the best talents available in the roster who lost her strong status ever since winning the title in December 2018. A lackluster run started from then onwards that ended courtesy of Charlotte Flair who created history by the win.

The Queen is now an eight-time Women’s Champion in the WWE. No other woman in the history of this pro-wrestling business has the same amount of women’s title wins. Trish Stratus also held the eight titles but one of those titles was the men’s division hardcore title. Plus, Charlotte Flair also broke her own dull run on Smackdown that continued for the last few months.

As revealed by CageMatch.net, this was the first televised victory for Charlotte Flair in 2019. Here’s the list of her TV matches of this year via the source,

1. Lynch defeats Carmella & Flair in a triple threat match (SmackDown Live, Jan. 8)

2. Lynch wins the women’s Royal Rumble match (Royal Rumble 2019, Jan. 27)

3. Lynch defeats Flair by disqualification (Fastlane 2019, Mar. 10)

4. Flair vs. Riott ends in a Time Limit Draw (Raw, Mar. 25)

5. Flair defeats Asuka (SmackDown Live, Mar. 26)

Currently, Charlotte Flair is all set to take on Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch for the Raw women’s championship in a triple threat at Wrestlemania 35. If WWE does plan to do a title unification then we expect the breaking news to become official on the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw. It will be the go-home show for the extravaganza waiting on April 7th.
