The Undertaker competing at Wrestlemania has become a tradition unlike any other WWE superstar and every year the speculations stay at the same level irrespective of whom the legend faces. This year it’s even higher as many think it is going to be his final showdown at his home state of Texas. Though the streak had been broken by Lesnar, it’s always been a treat to watch him performing at the grandest stage of them all.
After the last outing, Taker had with Lesnar at Summerslam and the way that match ended many thought it was going to be a rubber match between them at Wrestlemania. But WWE has preponed the match already as it is going to take place inside a hell in a cell. Being open to working more in this year Taker may end up having a feud with speculated one which may cause him the match at Mania. Here are some possibilities.
John Cena
First thought is with Cena as this two legends are yet to meet at the grandest stage and it’s going to be an epic one for sure. It would be good for Taker too as Cena is a tremendous safe worker given Taker’s is age is around 50. This would be an edge of the seat match and surely a crowd puller at the time.
Though they had a feud in past it will go to a whole new level at WrestleMania. And if it would be his retirement match Taker would not mind losing the match to a legend like Cena as it has been a norm for farewell matches.
The Rock
WWE even can target the non-fan audience too by creating a feud between The Rock and The Phenome as both are in talks with the authorities. Sure a former rivalry would be renewed as the Rock could turn heel and adopt the persona of the top most Hollywood star.
The only thing he would complain about is that he is not the one who had ended the streak as they had never met a WrestleMania and if would happen he would get a chance to lay the SmackDown on Taker.
It would be very interesting to see how the crowd reacts with his heel turn as they were pissed off when he helped his cousin Roman Reigns winning the Royal Rumble as a face. They have not fought since the 90’s and they had gone their way very differently it will be interesting to see how they collide inside the ring.
Roman Reigns
It is probably the time to give up the idea for Vince McMohan to make Roman Reigns the face of the company because as a baby face he is not worthy enough to be the franchise. But if he turns heel it will definitely work for him in the long run scenario and what better than having a feud with Taker at Wrestlemania.
With the attitude he had and the spoiled brat he is in the ring is the ideal thing for a heel. And if he can defeat taker in his last match it will create a huge hype for his career. It can probably backfire the plan too, as the fans can get angrier towards him, but he needs some big wins beside his name to make it to the next level be it a heel or face.
Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is on fire right now and if Taker wants a great match at WrestleMania then he doesn’t have a better choice than Rollins. And the ways WWE is pushing him it does make a sense of that match. And the technical wrestler that Rollins is, he surely is going to bring the best old school wrestling from Taker. Rollins is the current WWE world heavyweight champion and always in the spotlight be it RAW or SmackDown. Otherwise, who could have thought he would surpass his brothers in Shield and come this far in his career.
Hypothetically there is a chance that Rollins retain his title till next year’s WrestleMania where he gets the challenge from the Phenome. Taker deserves one last title gold where he can win or he may retire by losing the match thereby cementing Rollins as a Top Star.
Sting
If it comes to Sting then it has always been a dream match to see the two icons clash at the biggest stage of WrestleMania. The fans are going to be absolutely crazy if it is being confirmed. But given with the injured condition that Sting is in right now he may not be able to pull it off. Sting is 0-2 as of WWE career and needs a win here and what better way to earn it as the name of Taker. These two had never surpassed their ways as they grew into big names in the past. Both showed that they still had something left in the tank and what better way to sign off after giving us an epic match that has always been in our mind and video games.
