No Wrestlemania main event match (the one that will go down last on the match card) has been officially announced by the WWE, till date.
However, two of the championship matches are set from both Raw and Smackdown brands. Roman Reigns will take on Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, whereas, Shinsuke Nakamura will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship.
Apart from these two matches, there are several other contests which are scheduled, like the match of The Undertaker, women’s division matches or the contest featuring Ronda Rousey. These are forcing the fans to speculate about which of the match will go down at the end of the match card, i.e., will be called as the main event of Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans.
Recently, Bet Wrestling has come up with a report of the early betting odds of this year’s main event. As per them, none other than Roman Reigns is the one is the front-runner while gunning for the main event spotlight which is why the Universal Championship will close the show which is not surprising, at all.
For the past consecutive years, Roman Reigns has been the constant main-eventer and this year, it should not be an exception. This is the reason why even The Undertaker has been shifted from the spot. Last year, he was pitted against Reigns which is why his match was the main event. This year, his match against John Cena is likely to be the second main event of the night.
Here’s what SportsKeeda.com had to offer regarding this issue,
“The Undertaker’s match was the main event last year as he faced off against The Big Dog, so it makes sense that The Deadman’s match is the second favourite to end the show, especially if it is against John Cena and it really is his final outing.”
It inevitably makes the WWE Championship match the third favourite to main event ‘Mania. So, despite Shinsuke Nakamura winning the Royal Rumble match, it is not likely to earn him the needed spotlight.
Also, it was noted that no match featuring the women superstars are likely to get the main event match, as well. This includes Ronda Rousey, as well. She might be a huge mainstream superstar but yet to prove her potential inside the squared circle and hence she will not feature in the same spot that Roman Reigns will be.
