WWE Rumour: Update on Future Schedule for John Cena for Wrestlemania Season
John Cena is in a unique role in the WWE in recent times where he gets to work on a part-time schedule. He has to work on outside projects including his Hollywood commitments.
Whenever he gets free time from wrestling, he has to complete these tasks before getting back to work in his home, i.e. in the WWE. Plus, he is in a free agent role in the company.
By this role, he can perform in either Raw or Smackdown brand, as per his need and the creative planning. It is quite a unique status in the WWE which no other superstar does possess, officially. After working on the WWE Raw brand for the beginning of the year 2018, he shifted to the Smackdown brand with Wrestlemania goal in mind.
It started speculations among the fans whether he will compete at Wrestlemania from the blue brand, this year. For now, he will be a part of the Fastlane PPV gunning for the WWE Championship. There will be five other superstars in this match which is a six-pack challenge. Following this, his Wrestlemania storyline angle will start.
According to the rumours, The Undertaker is his most likely opponent, this year. However, it is not going to happen on the blue brand of the WWE, going by the recent advertisements. John Cena is not scheduled to appear in any of the Smackdown televised episodes nor at the house shows in the near future except for the Fastlane PPV.
It is a severe indication this man is not winning his 17th WWE Championship at the brand-exclusive PPV. So, he might be forced to move towards the flagship show, once again where the much-anticipated confrontation will take place between John Cena and The Undertaker. This dream match is indeed happening if the plans do not get changed in due course.
The only dates the franchise player of the company is booked into, are the Raw-exclusive house shows before the Wrestlemania season. It includes the Madison Square Garden house show where Nikki Bella will team up with him against Elias and Bayley.
Going forward, John Cena is going to make a final appearance at the post-Wrestlemania episode of Monday Night Raw in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is said to the last appearance for him once the biggest of the year is over. He would take hiatus from WWE programming, once again to fulfil his due Hollywood projects.
