Being an organic babyface on the WWE Smackdown roster, Aliyah is one of the most popular names among female superstars. After a promising start on the blue brand, last year, she’s suddenly been sidelined from TV due to an injury. She has been kept off TV for months, now and that absence status of hers will not be changing any time soon.
Aliyah had to be on time-off down with an elevated first rib and AC sprain in September. At that point, she was teaming with Raquel Rodriguez on the WWE Smackdown brand at the time of the injury, which kept her out of in-ring action for a few weeks. She was apparently ready to return to television within a few weeks and hence her current absence isn’t due to injury any longer.

It was on the September 12th, 2022 episode of RAW that the two WWE SmackDown Superstars Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Dakota Kai and IYO SKY of Damage Control. That was the final match for Aliyah before moving into the hiatus.
Aliyah from WWE Smackdown reacted to several fan posts
Now in several posts on Twitter, Aliyah herself told a fan that she’s been cleared to wrestle on WWE Smackdown since October 27, 2022. A fan then asked her where she has been as of late and she responded with a Britney Spears meme with the caption saying, “Umm, i don’t know…”
Then a fan suggested her to film some backstage content to get noticed and she responded with, “If only I was backstage,” indicating she hasn’t been allowed to attend WWE Live Events or be present backstage at TV tapings.
The WWE Smackdown Superstar also indicated that she would not be at the Elimination Chamber show in Montreal on February 18 in her residing country of Canada. Responding to a fan who hoped to see her there at the PLE, she simply wrote, “Sorry to let you down,”

She also posted, “Sorry to let you down” in response to a fan who wanted her to feature in the upcoming WWE 2K23 video game. Aliyah later deleted some of these tweets but by then it was damn clear that WWE Smackdown creative doesn’t have any plans for her, right now and she’s not coming back on TV.
