SmackDown brought a packed episode last night that had a huge opening contest where the face of the brand competed for the Intercontinental Championship. A Miz TV was in-store with the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Also, a six-pack challenge happened to crown a new number one contender for the title-holder. Check out the results from the show that took place at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match between Roman Reigns vs. Shinsuke Nakamura kicked things off on SmackDown. Nakamura hit a snap suplex on the apron which Reigns countered with a Superman Punch. While going for the spear, King Corbin appeared and hit Reigns with his sceptre to disqualify the match. A beatdown began on Reigns until Daniel Bryan tried to make the save. But he ended up getting a Kinshasa from Nakamura as the heels stood tall.
Chad Gable took on Curtis Axel in the next matchup of SmackDown. It was a short contest where Axel had the early momentums until Gable dodged a shot from Dallas and kicked him in the face. He blocked a Perfect-Plex attempt and applied the Ankle Lock submission hold to pick up the win. After the match, Gable cut a promo on people making jokes of his short heights and mentioned himself to be Shorty G.
Hulk Hogan joined the commentary team via Skype to announce that Ali and Shorty G will be competing on behalf of his team at Crown Jewel.
The eight-man tag team match happened next on SmackDown where Heavy Machinery and The New Day teamed up against The Revival, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode. Woods took a lot of punishment from Ziggler and Roode until hitting a missile drop-kick on Ziggler. Otis got the hot tag and bulldozed everyone in his path before hitting the Caterpillar on Roode. He tagged in the New Day members to hit the Midnight Hour on Dawson for the victory.
The Miz welcomed SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley alongside Sasha Banks on the MizTV talk show segment. He mentioned Bayley’s heel-turn from last week and asked what the reason could be behind this turn on. Banks mocked how Miz was drafted late in the bygone Draft after which Bayley took the mic and blamed all the fans for not being on her corner when she lost the title at Hell in a Cell.
The Six-Pack Challenge took place next on SmackDown with the lineup of Lacey Evans vs. Carmella vs. Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville vs. Nikki Cross vs. Dana Brooke to determine the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Carmella applied the Code of Silence submission on Rose before Deville broke it up. Evans dropped Deville with a Women’s Right after which Nikki Cross hit a Spinning Neckbreaker on Rose to pick up the win.
Braun Strowman competed against Drew Gulak on SmackDown as the latter one made his blue brand debut. Gulak tried to show a 345-slide PowerPoint presentation on the big screen to give some advice to Strowman on Crown Jewel. Braun ended up launching him across the ring and splashed Gulak into the turnbuckles before following up with the Running Powerslam for the win.
SmackDown featured a main event where Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns teamed up against King Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura. Before the match, the ring announcer informed the new team captain of Team Hogan, Roman Reigns. Daniel Bryan took early punishments from both the heels until Reigns put away Corbin with a spear through the barricade. Bryan hit some YES kicks on Nakamura and downed him with a Roundhouse kick. The Running Knee connected on Nakamura as Bryan earned the pinfall win over Nakamura.
