Last night’s episode of Smackdown Live turned out to be the very best of 2018. It is that night of the year where a series of debuts, returns or unexpected things happens. There was no exception from yesterday’s episode of the show hosted from New Orleans, Louisiana as we have received the new Smackdown General Manager.
It was reported earlier that Daniel Bryan’s tenure as the general manager of Smackdown Live might be coming to an end. He was cleared for in-ring competitions just prior to the Wrestlemania season. This is why he was looking more for wrestling capacities in the near future rather than his official job on the blue brand.

As expected, the night kicked off with Shane McMahon cherishing the match from Wrestlemania 34 where he had the honor of teaming with Daniel Bryan. But, now that she turned into a wrestler, he resigned from his post of GM. Hence, we were introduced to the new name for this spot, Paige! The crowd erupted as this happened at the Smoothie King Center.
It was hard to believe that the superstar who retired, just one night ago was introduced in a new capacity, right away. The audience had no clues of it and their reactions said it all. Paige received a huge pop during her entrance which indicated that the audience is thrilled to have her back onboard on Smackdown Live.

It is a good decision by the officials to use the popular superstar in this new role. It will be a good way to use this popular superstar on WWE TV, each week now that she will not be able to wrestle, anymore.
There’s no denying that Paige is considered to be a global icon by the fans. So, her presence in the backstage will be helpful to boost ratings of Smackdown, as well.

Her first decision after becoming the authority figure was to make a dream match between Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles. Hopefully, she would continue to make the crowd happy with her decisions, every week.
Her contract with the WWE is intact until 2019 which is why she is going to be around for at least, one more year.
