WWE SmackDown delivered the post-Wrestlemania 39 edition, this week from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. Major news coming out of the show included Triple H’s presence in it to confirm the return of the WWE Draft 2023 edition within a matter of a few weeks. The exact date of that return was not disclosed but they revealed that we will get to see a big return, next week.

After a significant break for several months, Shinsuke Nakamura is finally coming back on WWE television. The King of Strong Styles was previously permitted by WWE to go to Japan and wrestle The Great Muta in one of his final matches. The WWE Smackdown Superstar thus got to enjoy some quality times in his home country but now it’s time for him to go back to business after coming back.

WWE Smackdown: Huge Return And More Announced For April 15 Episode 2

Heading into WWE Smackdown, the speculation was that Triple H would get back charge of the show after Vince McMahon’s sudden inclusion to Raw creative, this week. Sean Sapp noted behind his paywall that WWE officials hoped that SmackDown sees a return to the way how Triple H is running the show,

“Higher ups that we spoke to Thursday believed and hoped that Smackdown would return to the version of the show we saw since Triple H took over.”

Ultimately, McMahon didn’t interfere that much and the bookings for next week reflect the same. WWE Smackdown will likely be run by The Game while we have to see whether Vince McMahon continues to be on the creative team of WWE Raw.
