WWE Smackdown will seemingly go international for a one-off week within a couple of months from now. Earlier this month, WWE announced that they’ll be bringing the first post-Wrestlemania 39 premium live event in Puerto Rico in the form of WWE Backlash taking place in San Juan on Saturday, May 6.
WWE has also revealed a few hours ago that Backlash won’t be the only international show in Puerto Rico that weekend, as WWE SmackDown will take place at the same arena as Backlash, the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot just a night before.

Interestingly, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is missing from the poster released by WWE on social media despite the fact that he is listed to perform at the PLE, the night after. For the time being, the superstars advertised for the weekly TV episode are WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, The Usos, Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, Braun Strowman, Rey Mysterio, and Sami Zayn.

No update if Bad Bunny will be there on WWE Smackdown in Puerto Rico
During the announcement of Backlash 2023, WWE revealed that Grammy award-winning rapper and former WrestleMania competitor Bad Bunny has been assigned to be the host of the PLE. However, it’s not been revealed whether Bad Bunny will appear on WWE SmackDown or on both nights.
In the recent past, WWE has held live events in Puerto Rico but it’s been quite some time since they have presented a televised or premium live event to the territory. WWE’s New Year’s Revolution pay-per-view in 2005 was the last time that the company held any televised event in the region. Plus, this will be the first time that an episode of WWE Smackdown will be held in Puerto Rico. Combo tickets to attend both events will go on sale Tuesday, March 21 at 10 am EST.
Apart from WWE Smackdown, WWE might be having plans to bring an episode of Raw from the zone that’s actually under the USA. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez revealed that WWE has discussed holding an episode of Monday Night Raw in Puerto Rico but no confirmation is yet to receive,
“There is discussion to hold RAW in Puerto Rico as well, but we’ll just see what they end up doing.”
