Following the dramatic conclusion of Summerslam 2023, all eyes were on this week’s WWE Smackdown on what the Uso brothers are going to do, next. Jimmy Uso betrayed Jey in the main event of Summerslam which was originally supposed to set up a match between the two at Payback but in a shocking way, Jey opted to leave the WWE, altogether.

Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Paul Heyman came out to the ring for the WWE Smackdown main event segment before Jimmy appeared at ringside with a hoodie on. Reigns asked Jimmy what he wanted in return for his help, offering him cars and private jets. Jimmy would stop his cousin right there by claiming that his actions at SummerSlam had nothing to do with The Bloodline and joining back Reigns.

Eventually, Jey Uso also come out to a thunderous ovation from the WWE Smackdown audience and asked Jimmy to explain his actions from Summerslam. Jimmy claimed that he didn’t want to lose Jey out of Reigns’ corruption at the Tribal Combat and thus had to interfere.

WWE Smackdown: Jey Uso downed everyone with Superkicks

Jey didn’t buy the thought as Jimmy left the ring. Reigns and Sikoa then berated Jey as the latter laid them both out with superkicks before calling Jimmy back down to the ring. The Uso twins were seemingly going for a hug before Jey turned the tables and superkick-ed his own flesh and blood.

In a more shocking way, Jey stared at the camera and claimed that he was “out of The Bloodline, out of SmackDown, and out of WWE” to close out the segment. Jey then walked off the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada to cheers from the audience as the other members of The Bloodline remained motionless to send WWE Smackdown off the air.

There’s no update as to how Jimmy vs. Jey storyline will unfold on WWE Smackdown in the future. But recent reports claimed that WWE could opt to unfold the story in a slow way. WrestleVotes noted that there has been talk within WWE by “at least one creative force” to save up the match for WrestleMania 40, next April. Talks were also there for the stretch being too long for the match to wait and hence plans could be changed in due course.
