After a week’s absence, John Cena will be back on WWE Smackdown, next week and he’s expected to enter a new feud. It was predicted following the announcement of his return to TV that WWE could have been planning a rub for Grayson Waller via the former franchise player and that storyline could be shaping up, starting from next week.
As announced by the WWE, John Cena will be a guest on the Grayson Waller Effect next week on WWE Smackdown. The two previously had an altercation at Money in the Bank which seemingly indicates that the top brass heel will have some interesting questions in mind for the former franchise player of the company.
Back at Money in the Bank in early July, John Cena made a surprise return to the WWE. On that night, he was confronted by Waller and he was also attacked by the brass heel. Eventually, the Cenation Leader forced his attitude to get adjusted with his pendant finisher. It appears that the continuation of the program between the two will unfold on the September 15 episode of WWE Smackdown.

WWE Smackdown: John Cena vs. Grayson Waller feud to begin?
Previously, John Cena vs. Grayson Waller was expected to go down at WWE Superstar Spectacle in India. However, Cena’s first match since WrestleMania 39 (where he lost to Austin Theory in a United States Championship match) turned out to be something different during the WWE Live Event in India due to which he missed this week’s WWE Smackdown.
In the main event of Superstar Spectacle 2023, John Cena and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defeated Imperium (Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci) in a tag team match. The finish saw both the men hitting their respective finishers (Attitude Adjustment and Pedigree) to earn a double pin-fall win.
Now that, Cena’s done competing in the first-ever matchup on Indian soil, he will be back on WWE Smackdown starting from next week onward. For the time being, WWE is advertising him throughout the months of September and October. It essentially confirms his presence in early October PLE Fastlane and possibly at Crown Jewel set for later that month.
