There have been rumors of a heel-turn by Lacey Evans for the past couple of months ever since she returned on TV. That change of character finally happened on this week’s Smackdown when she attacked her scheduled opponent on the show.
During the July 8 episode of Smackdown, Lacey Evans was supposed to be Aliyah’s tag team partner, but instead, she cut a promo on the show before punching hit Aliyah with the Woman’s Right.

Before getting into the ring, the former Marine did her entrance three times to let the crowd react about this which already hinted that she has something in mind.
After the third time, Lacey Evans finally got a microphone and told the crowd that she was disgusted by their response even after not getting the respect for sacrificing her career for their service. She also said that all the fans can go to hell until she gets the respect. Aliyah then wanted to backfire on her but she was downed, instantly.

Lacey Evans switched brands on multiple occasions
It was noted all the way back in May that, Lacey Evans was going to turn heel. Prior to that, she would make her return to WWE programming during the April 8 episode of SmackDown after WWE ran a series of five vignettes to build to her return to the blue brand that comprised of her childhood journey and where she’s at today.
After the series ended this past Friday night on SmackDown Lacey Evans was then introduced to the live crowd for a big babyface pop with new theme music. Down the road, she was sent to the Raw roster after which PWInsider reported that she has been moved to the RAW brand internally.
It was also noted in that same report that Lacey Evans will be working as a heel on the RAW brand. This was an interesting topic since she received a strong babyface reaction from fans. In the meantime, she was still listed as a SmackDown Superstar on the WWE website and after a gap of a few weeks, she was called back to the blue brand.
Her first match on Smackdown took place against Xia Li on the June 10th episode after competing in the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match. She was also part of the 2022 women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
