With two big matches confirmed for the show, last night’s Smackdown Live turned out to be pretty big.
We expected to get confirmed of the main event of Fastlane PPV whereas an exciting championship match was also in-store for the United States title.
Here’s how the night went by from the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
Smackdown Live kicked off with Shane McMahon talking about the main event of the night. Daniel Bryan showed up in the ring having yet another confrontation with the commissioner to hype up the match, later the night.
Meanwhile, AJ Styles interrupted them about saying that no matter what he is retaining his title at Fastlane and then heading into Wrestlemania 34 as the champion.
The opening contest of the night took place between Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan. Morgan sent the champion over the top rope to take control of the match.
The members of the Riott Squad also provided distractions after which the referee ejected them from the ringside area. Charlotte delivered a big boot and locked in Figure Eight to claim the win.
The Bludgeon Brothers squashed two local talents in a tag team match. After the match, the Usos walked out to confront this strong team. They cut another quick promo to send a strong message to the locker room.
In another tag team action, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin defeated the Ascension with their combo finishing move.
The United States Championship match took place between Rusev and Bobby Roode. Rusev connected with a big superkick but Roode kicked out of that.
Aftermath, the champions escaped an Accolade and hit the Glorious DDT to retain his title. After the match, Randy Orton hit an RKO to Roode, out of nowhere. Rusev and Aiden English joined the list, too.
Daniel Bryan revealed the top 10 list of Smackdown superstars which is as follows-

Prior to the main event of Smackdown Live, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn cut promos to hype up the contest.
In the match, the Owens connected with a top rope splash but Zayn kicked out of that. Zayn too, connected with a Blue Thunder Bomb but failed to get the pinfall.
The action continued at ringside as AJ Styles got involved into it. The champion hit both Owens and Zayn, out of frustration to make the contest disqualified.
The GM showed up to announce that due to what happened in the match, the Fastlane main event will be a triple threat match for the WWE Championship involving all three of them.
