WWE Smackdown Live Full Results: April 10, 2018

Just like the post-Wrestlemania episode of WWE Raw, the episode of Smackdown Live also remains quite special. Last night, there were some major happenings on the show that started the buildups for this year’s Backlash PPV event. A couple of huge matches were also in-store from the blue brand roster. Check out the results from the episode which took place at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Smackdown Live kicked off with Shane McMahon remembering the Wrestlemania moments alongside Daniel Bryan. He informed us that Bryan resigned from his GM post. So, a new GM was introduced in the form of Paige! She got a huge ovation from the crowd. After applauding the audience a dream match for later the night between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles.

The opening contest on Smackdown was contested for the number one contenders’ spot for the tag team championships. The New Day and The Usos squared off for one more time. In a back and forth contest, The Usos prevailed by neutralizing Big E with double superkicks. Xavier Woods was hit by a splash off the top rope by Jay Uso to earn the pinfall win.

Charlotte Flair talked about her Wrestlemania moment against Asuka. It was pure magic at the biggest event of all time as she looks forward to a new opponent. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce made their debut demanding the spotlight as they delivered a massive two-on-one attack on the champion. This ended by planting her on the mat.

Carmella was lurking around and came right after Charlotte with her Money in the Bank briefcase. A downed champion was not able to provide any sort of resistance as she was delivered with a superkick to the face by Carmella to digest the pinfall loss. By virtue of this, we crowned a new Smackdown Women’s Champion in Carmella.

The new champion was seen with teary eyes while giving an interview to Renee Young. She also gloated about becoming the new title-holder. Naomi and Natalya competed in a singles match that was won by the women’ battle royal via a moon assault off the top rope.

Another number one contender’s match was contested in triple threat capacity for the United States Championship. Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, and Rusev compete in it for the spot. Rusev was on the verge of winning the contest with a Machla Kick and Accolade locked on Roode. But, Orton came right back into the contest with an RKO to Roode to pick up the win.

In the main event of Smackdown, Daniel Bryan competed against AJ Styles in a dream match. Bryan set AJ up in a Tree of Woe and delivered some kicks in the midsection. Thereafter he went for a top rope move when Shinsuke Nakamura showed up and attacked Bryan to make the match disqualified. A knee to the face following with a low-blow was delivered to AJ Styles to close the show.
