The final episode of Smackdown Live prior to Wrestlemania 34 was hosted last night. A unique main event match was in-store where the two participants of the WWE Championship match, teamed up. Furthermore, the show was already pumped up with the return of the commissioner just on the verge of the biggest event of the year. There were a plethora of matches announced for this evening at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Daniel Bryan’s music kicked things off for Smackdown Live, this week. Shane McMahon also showed up by his side confirming that he is medically cleared to compete at Wrestlemania. Hence, the announced tag team match is still on. The two officials apologized to each other for being in an adversary position. They hugged it out to end the differences.
Charlotte Flair came out to feature in the opening contest of Smackdown Live against Natalya. After a slow-paced start, the Queen started to pick up the pace with some Flair Chops of her father. Later, she went for a top rope moon assault which was missed. Both the ladies were downed in the middle when Carmella’s music hit the arena.
The Miss Money in the Bank came out running with the briefcase in her hand. Charlotte realized that her title is in danger and dropped it from Carmella. Later, she delivered a big boot to put the heel down. The Figure Eight was locked in on Natalya by her to win the contest. Asuka came out to have a final confrontation with Charlotte before Wrestlemania to end the segment.
Bobby Roode came out to be present by the ringside for the contest between Jinder Mahal and Rusev. The latter one connected with a Machka Kick to pick up a quick win. After the match, Randy Orton hit the ring to deliver an RKO on Rusev. Aiden English tried to backfire but ran into another RKO from Orton. Roode and Orton had a staredown on Smackdown, thereafter.
The New Day was trying to hype up the Wrestlemania show at the backstage area to run into The Usos who threatened them for the title match. The Bludgeon Brothers also showed up alongside them when they decided to back down. An eight-man tag team match was contested where Zack Ryder, Fandango, Dillinger and Tyler Breeze were defeated by Dolph Ziggler, Mojo Rawley, Baron Corbin and Primo.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn showed up to hijack Smackdown Live with a promo for their Wrestlemania 34 match. They vowed to make Shane and Daniel Bryan’s life miserable as the authorities sent out a bunch of officials to take them out of the show.
In the main event of Smackdown, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura teamed up against Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin. Styles picked up the win quite easily with a Phenomenal Forearm on Chad Gable. Aftermath, Nakamura was attacked by Benjamin but managed to fend off. Later, AJ Styles teased to hit another Phenomenal Forearm on Nakamura but did not hit it. A staredown ended this week’s edition.
